We’re just a few months away from Splatoon 3‘s Summer 2022 release window, and Nintendo has quietly revealed new screenshots for the Switch title.

First spotted by Nintendo Life, Nintendo updated the official Splatoon 3 Japanese webpage with some new looks at the threequel, giving us brief glimpses of competitive multiplayer, the single-player campaign, the new hub city, and more.

You can take a look at the screenshots for yourself in the gallery below.

Splatoon 3: Screenshots from Nintendo’s Japanese Website

Splatoon 3’s story seems to really be digging into the post-apocalyptic vibe, featuring an upside-down Eiffel Tower, a Mad Max-esque wasteland, and an inverted city skyline. You can also get a look at some returning characters, like the Squid Sisters from Splatoon 1. Plus, there’s a quick look at Splatsville, the “city of chaos” that will serve as this game’s hub world, like Inkopolis from the older games.

We most recently saw Splatoon 3 in the February 2022 Nintendo Direct, where we learned the cooperative Salmon Run mode is returning, bringing a handful of new boss types along with it. Nintendo originally revealed Splatoon 3 in February 2021, and later announced the single-player campaign called “Return of the Mammalians”.
