People keeping up with the Hues of the Violet Garden Irodori Festival quests in Genshin Impact as they were released likely saw a story cinematic already. It appears in-game once the A New Painting in Pale Scarlet quest is completed. Now, for people who haven’t, miHoYo shared a Tale of the Five Kasen trailer. This is an out-of-context glimpse at part of its story.

Over the course of the first three Genshin Impact Irodori Festival quests, people learn about four of the five legendary Inazuman poets. The Strange Tale of Suikou’s Tipsy Tincture covered Suikou, What the Blue Flowers Left Behind involved Aoi no Okina, and A New Painting in Pale Scarlet discussed Akahito and Sumizome. As people go through these quests, prominent characters like Venti, Xingqiu, Kazuha, and Ayaka all also appear. They, in turn, end up inspiring the artist “Calx” as he draws art of the four figures for the festival.

The Tale of the Five Kasen features that same art, all while Yae Miko, Venti, Xingqiu, Kazuha, and Ayaka narrate the story.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. It will also come to the Nintendo Switch. The Irodori Festival will run via Genshin Impact‘s Hues of the Violet Garden event until April 25, 2022.
