We reported on upcoming platformer Inukari a few weeks ago, and now the team at RedDeer.games has revealed a release date for the title. The indie pixel platformer will be released on the Nintendo Switch eShop this week on 18 March.

In Inukari, you play the role of a fox-like creature, who just happens to be nature’s protector and patron of the ancient forest. Her role is to protect the Earth and in the game you’ll travel through forests, villages, and cities on a mission to defeat your enemies and repair the evil caused by human greed. Are you ready to guide the world back to the right path?

The game promises fast-paced platforming in a classic jump-and-run style that focuses on a retro feel. Other features include:

  • Female protagonist
  • Story-driven speedrun
  • 2D retro-pixel platformer
  • Simple controls but not an easy gameplay
  • Original 8-bit soundtrack composed especially for this game

A new trailer was also dropped to coincide with the announcement of the release date. The explanation trailer comes with full commentary from RedDeer.games about Inukari’s origins and gameplay. You can check it out below to get a behind-the-scenes look at Inukari.

Inukari comes from developer Einzelartig Games, an indie game developer working on various projects. The studio’s goal is to create content that showcases the team’s passion and love for gaming itself.

Do you like the look of this upcoming retro-styled platformer? Is it something that might make it to your playlist next week? Let us know all your thoughts on Inukari!
