Ever since the PlayStation 5 was announced, Oddworld: Soulstorm has been billed as a tentpole title. The franchise has a long running relationship with Sony’s brand, of course, dating all the way back to Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee on the PS1, so it’s no real surprise to see the Japanese giant tap into that nostalgia.
As a result, PS5 owners will be able to enjoy the new title as part of their PS Plus subscription in April. If you’ve not got a next-gen console yet but fancy picking up the game for your PS4, there’ll be a free upgrade from PS4 to PS5. Unfortunately, only the PS5 version is available with Sony’s subscription; you’ll need to buy the last-gen version.
As an added bonus for PS5 owners, the game will support Game Help on the new system. For those of you who don’t know, this feature effectively enables you to look up solutions to puzzles and find collectibles, without ever needing to refer to YouTube or online guides. You’ll need to be a PS Plus subscriber to use this feature, but you’ll find the solutions in the Activity Cards.
