The Eternal Cylinder promises much. But in and amongst the weird inhabitants, glorious visuals and strange alien world that is ready to be explored, one thing stands out above all else – the chance to be unique.

Available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (although we don’t have any X|S optimisation yet), PS4 and PC through the Epic Game Store, The Eternal Cylinder promises to tell a wondrous tale of a stranger than fiction world, and how stubborn persistence can allow for the chance to thrive in such surroundings.

Priced at £23.74 from the Xbox Store, it’s a game that has come out of the ACE Team Software stable, being picked up and published by those at Good Shepherd Entertainment in the process. And it’s a game that is very much unlike anything else, except maybe a little bit of the weirdness previously found in Journey to the Savage Planet

It places you in sole change of a herd of the most adorable little creatures – the Trebhums; a bottom of the food chain species who will need to mutate, adapt and gain new physical attributes and abilities with your every command. By snacking on a bit of flora and fauna, these guys can begin to fly, they can swim and they can help you overcome a whole host of weird and wacky puzzles and dangers.

The thing is, at all times there is the constant threat of the Cylinder; a rolling structure that crushes near everything in their path. You don’t want to get in the way of this thing.

With 50 odd mutations to discover, the chance to be loved by your own alien family, and a weird alien world to fully explore, The Eternal Cylinder looks to be a glorious way to kick back and spend some time – if only as the oddities that are found within are utterly adorable.

Features include:

  • Unforgettable Alien World to Explore
  • Solve Ancient Mysteries
  • Real-Time World Destruction
  • Build Your Own Alien Family
  • Unique Mutation System
  • 50+ Mutations to Discover
  • A Trebhum for Everyone
  • Story Driven Exploration
  • Layered Survival
  • Living and Breathing Ecosystems
  • 4 Unique Biomes to Discover and Explore

If you wish to join this world, you’ll find The Eternal Cylinder present on the usual digital stores, with Xbox, PlayStation and PC players able to take a little trip right now. The Xbox Store will cover the needs of Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players.

Keep an eye out for our full review very soon too.

Game Description:

In The Eternal Cylinder, players control a herd of adorable creatures called Trebhums and must explore a strange alien world filled with exotic lifeforms and surreal environments. All whilst the constant threat of the Cylinder, a gargantuan rolling structure of ancient origin which crushes everything in its path, looms. In this unique alien ecosystem, real-time world destruction, animal AI, organic exploration, and puzzle design all combine to deliver an unforgettable adventure. Your Trebhums begin at the bottom of the food chain, but can mutate and evolve new physical attributes and abilities by eating a variety of flora and fauna. Discover and evolve dozens of mutations, including new traversal skills, like flying and swimming to reach new areas, and new senses to help overcome puzzles and dangers. Your many Trebhums can all have different mutations, empowering you to create a unique herd. Each mutation will also change the physical look of a Trebhum, and combining these will generate surprising new creature designs which players will be able to organically discover as they explore this diverse alien world.
