A year ago we heard that Tribute Games and Dotemu would be revitalising the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Shredder’s Revenge. Well, today they not only fully confirm the formats which the game will arrive on, but also that there will be a very special playable character in place alongside the little green machines – Master Splinter.

Accompanied by an all-new trailer that reveals Master Splinter as a fully playable fighter, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge has also now been fully confirmed for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PS4, alongside the previously confirmed PC and Nintendo Switch drops. It’ll arrive later this year.

Created by publisher Dotemu and developer Tribute Games in partnership with Nickelodeon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will see players able to take to the streets as Master Splinter, utilising his command of ninjutsu as a playable character.

Yep, it’s not just Leo, Don, Raph and Mikey who can dish out the justice and with Master Splinter’s calm, thoughtful nature it makes him more collected than most of his green pupils. His mastery of ninja arts ensures that he’s a formidable powerhouse too, as he dishes out particularly powerful attacks with his trusty staff and wide-reaching special ninja moves, bashing through groups of enemies.

Fully inspired by the Turtles’ iconic 1987 design (the best one, no debate!), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge brings New York City’s most righteous ninjas to life with gorgeous pixel art that looks like it’s been ripped straight from the arcade scene. With showdowns featuring rivals like Bebop and Rocksteady, and signature locales like Dimension X, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is a bodacious celebration of classic TMNT beat-em-ups with its own modern touches.

With Dotemu previously behind the likes of Streets of Rage 4 and the more recent Windjammers 2 and Tribute Games capable of being home to talent previously behind the acclaimed Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game, there’s some huge hype sitting in on what can be produced with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge.

Stay tuned for launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam) later in 2022. For now, trailer time…
